Make your dreams come true by making your own Bucket List

Dreams and goals

Dreams are an important part of our personality and I think I can say with certainty that we all carry many dreams with us in life. Many people think that dreams remain dreams, while others invest a little more, and make their dreams come true. One way to bring these dreams to life can be to create a Bucket list, which you check off as your wishes and goals are fulfilled.

I have just finished making my very first Bucket List which is not to demanding since it`s my first time.

I’ll share mine with you today, both the process of making it, and the actual Bucket List itself. Who knows, maybe we’ll even share similar dreams.

How to get started with the Bucket list

Setting dreams and goals in a system is not always easy when it is the first time you do it. I’ve been thinking for a long time that I want to make a Bucket List. I remember the movie with the same title; The Bucket List and how this movie inspired me, but I never took the time to sit down to actually make my own list.Bucket list

Well, I`ve finally found the time. I’ve spent some hours thinking about what it is I want to include in my very first Bucket List. I have so many dreams and so many goals, but you have to start somewhere and I have chosen to make a simple list this first time. I will expand the existing list with more dreams and goals as I go ahead, or just create new and more categorized lists later on.

The first thing I did was make a mind map, where I attached dreams I have had for a long time. Let me tell you… that mind map became quite extensive when I finally finished it. I then chose to remove the dreams that I know are not realistic to fulfill today due to the ongoing pandemic – the dreams that involve different travels and destinations abroad for example.

When the mind map was ready, I made the Bucket List as I wanted it to be, where I decided in advance to have a total of 10 dreams. These 10 dreams are affordable and possible to implement in the current situation, and I know that they are guaranteed to give me a good feeling by myself. The best thing about this list is that I am allowed to mark the dreams in the list as I go ahead with my dreams. To me that is very satisfying.

Why Bucket List is important to me

To put goals and dreams in your own system is a great help in focusing on exploration and creativity in your own mind. It is also a great way to hold yourself accountable for achieving your goals and dreams.

It is important to use the brain actively, and I would say that this can be a very good way to increase your own creativity, while at the same time feeling the joy and satisfaction of having your own goals set for the future.

The greatest joy and satisfaction is of course when you can cross off the goals and dreams as you fulfill them, but it is also a very good feeling to have finally put things in a tidy system.

Since health and lifestyle are so important to me, this is something I find very rewarding for my own part. That I can meet my own expectations and “requirements”, which no one else has made for me. I own it 100% myself and this is an extra big bonus to me. We all have our own expectations and demands for ourselves, and it is always a feeling of defeat when you fail to meet these. By making a Bucket List, you actually have a whole lifetime to complete the dreams and goals, and you do not need to feel that anyone is breathing down your neck, as there is no deadline to keep up with. This is a one big joy itself to me.

Some facts about the Bucket List

Why is it called Bucket List?Facts

Etymology. From kick the bucket, which means: “to die” + list as in; “list of things to do before one dies”. The term was coined by American and British screenwriter Justin Zackham in his screenplay for the film; The Bucket List, from 2007.

Zackham made his own list before the film was produced, which he called “Justin`s list of things to do before I kick the bucket”, as he later changed to “Justin`s Bucket List.” The first goal on his list was to produce a screenplay for a large Hollywood studio. After a time it occurred to him that he could make a screenplay out of The Bucket List. The film is about two dying men who will complete their own Bucket List during the last time they have left of their life.

Give life to your dreams

What are you waiting for? Go ahead, and get started with your own Bucket List. It is so much fun, and it`s just amazing to realize how many good and new ideas you find along your way doing this. Feel free to share your Bucket List with me, and maybe I just might get more dreams and goals to add to my own list.Dreams come true

There can be many reasons why we do not act on our dreams. Some may have a fear that makes the realization difficult while others may think they can not get anything useful out of their dreams at all. Some people are simply to busy in their everyday life to allow themselves to take a little timeout, and think about the opportunities that lie ahead.

Maybe it can be a good way to overcome fear of situations by making an attempt at this? Just imagine the feeling of mastery when the goals and dreams are fulfilled, even though there might have been a fear associated with them.

We live in a hectic society, where demands and expectations are a constant factor. This very often makes us forget ourselves, and pushes our dreams and goals aside. What if we give ourselves only twenty minutes each day to think about what joys one can actually get out of realizing some of our dreams?

The imagination has no boundaries. Use your creativity, grab a pen and a piece of paper and get started with the process.

Good luck!
